Committed to Excellence

IDEA Coalition Task Force

The IDEA Coalition Task Force is an organization made up of representatives from the Islip Public Schools and local government, community and civic groups. Working together, our goal is to minimize high risk behaviors such the use of drugs, alcohol, tobacco, and e-cigarettes among the youth in our district.

The Coalition’s efforts are focused on developing programs, environmental strategies, and activities that address the root cause of youth alcohol and substance abuse. Our initiatives include drug and alcohol awareness programs in schools throughout the district, Game Nights at the Middle and High Schools, the Post-Prom party for seniors at the High School, and parent and community forums which share important information about drug and alcohol trends, services, and the impact on the Islip community.

Any and all individuals living within the Hamlet of Islip are invited to join the IDEA Coalition Task Force to join us in our mission to reduce the risk factors of substance abuse and provide education to build protective factors for our youth to create a safer, healthier Islip community.

Visit the IDEA website for more information, resources, photos, and more!
