Dr. Dennis O’Hara, Islip’s superintendent, was the guest speaker at the weekly meeting of the Rotary Club of Islip on May 16. Dr. O’Hara gave a detailed presentation to the Rotary membership about the school budget vote, which took place on May 21. He provided a comprehensive breakdown of how the budget is calculated and processed, and showed the Club – composed of Islip and East Islip residents and business owners – that Islip is a leader in providing the best education to its students while still maintaining financial responsibility.
