At their meeting on Monday, January 13, 2025, the Board of Education approved a resolution electing not to participate in the development of New York State Education Department's (NYSED) regionalization plan or in any aspect of the regionalization plan. A letter stating the Islip School District's intention to "opt-out" of regionalization was sent to NYSED on Tuesday, January 14th.
