Islip High School proudly celebrated the accomplishments of its senior student-athletes during the district’s annual College Signing Ceremony. This event recognizes those who have committed to continuing their athletic and academic careers at the collegiate level. Surrounded by family members, coaches, teammates, and administrators, the students officially signed their letters of intent and were honored for their dedication, leadership, and years of hard work. "It's great for our community to see our Islip athletes continue after high school in their sport," said Islip Athletic Director John Sparacio. "They are so passionate about what they do. It's a testament to their hard work and their commitment as student-athletes. We're very proud of our student-athletes, and we're very proud they represent the Islip community."

The Islip High School Business and Leadership Commerce Club has been accepted into the nationally recognized Chick-fil-A Leader Academy, marking the school's first participation in the program. principles into action. Thanks to the generous sponsorship of the Chick-fil-A Commack location, Islip students will engage in a series of hands-on leadership and service experiences throughout the school year. The club’s proposal focuses on raising funds to support local veterans and the Islip American Legion Hall, which needs critical building repairs.

Islip High School served as the hub for professional collaboration as the district’s curriculum directors hosted an Advanced Placement (AP) Collaborative. The program brought together approximately 168 AP teachers from 35 school districts across Long Island. The event was designed to foster collaboration and professional growth among educators. "To bring teachers here has been a great day of sharing knowledge and building on that collective efficacy; we have made Islip High School a hub for learning and growth," said Islip Superintendent Dr. Dennis O'Hara.

Led by fourth-grade teacher Cathy Nieves, a breast cancer survivor and former CRES student, the initiative raises awareness and funds for breast cancer support. Proceeds benefit the Jeanette Feminella Scholarship Fund—honoring the beloved former principal—and the Islip Breast Cancer Coalition (IBCC). Students and staff wore special 10th Anniversary Power of Pink shirts and filled the hallways with pink ribbons honoring fighters and survivors. Students sold $2 awareness items daily and took part in morning announcements promoting kindness, empathy, and community giving. “Watching the students sell items with joy in their eyes is so rewarding—they’re excited to be helping people,” said Ms. Nieves.
