Islip Celebrates Student-Athletes at College Signing Ceremony
Islip High School proudly celebrated the accomplishments of its senior student-athletes during the district’s annual College Signing Ceremony.
This event recognizes those who have committed to continuing their athletic and academic careers at the collegiate level. Surrounded by family members, coaches, teammates, and administrators, the students officially signed their letters of intent and were honored for their dedication, leadership, and years of hard work.
"It's great for our community to see our Islip athletes continue after high school in their sport," said Islip Athletic Director John Sparacio. "They are so passionate about what they do. It's a testament to their hard work and their commitment as student-athletes. We're very proud of our student-athletes, and we're very proud they represent the Islip community."
This year’s signing class represents an impressive range of sports and a diverse group of colleges and universities across the country. The following seniors were recognized:
- Caitlin Barnes, Lacrosse – Boston College
- Jake DeGennero, Lacrosse – LIU
- Abbey Dieumegard, Lacrosse – Virginia Tech University
- Julia Dromerhauser, Soccer – Westfield State
- Lauren Hofmann, Softball – Queens College
- Rylee Moran, Basketball – St. Joseph's
- Alyssa Muschenick, Softball/Tennis – SUNY Purchase
- Jack Rao, Lacrosse – Hofstra University
- Teagan Rao, Lacrosse – Marist College
- Taylor Reising, Lacrosse – University of Rhode Island
- Tessa Smith, Lacrosse – Merrimack College
- Matthew Trovato, Lacrosse – Swarthmore College
- Reese Wallace, Lacrosse – Florida State University
The ceremony concluded with photos, applause, and well-earned celebration as the seniors took an important step toward their futures. Their success continues to elevate Islip’s rich tradition of athletic excellence.
