Students Showcase Innovation at Virtual Enterprise Regional Competition

Posted Date: 01/16/26 (01:34 PM)

Virtual EnterpriseStudents from Islip High School’s Virtual Enterprise program recently participated in the NY & NE Regional Tradeshow and Business Plan Competition, held at Long Island University.

The event brought together student-run companies from across New York and New England to compete in a professional tradeshow environment and present formal business plans.

The school was represented by two Virtual Enterprise companies, Platera and Everplay. Student executives from each company delivered 10-minute business plan presentations to a panel of industry professionals, followed by 5 minutes of Q&A, simulating a real-world investor pitch experience. Presentations highlighted market research, financials, marketing strategy, operations, and long-term growth plans.

Under the guidance of business teacher Ms. McMullan, students demonstrated strong professionalism, confidence, and critical thinking as they defended their ideas and responded to judges’ feedback.

Participation in the Regional Tradeshow provided students with authentic, hands-on experience and reinforced the program’s focus on preparing students for college, careers, and future leadership in business.
