Seventh Grader Repeats as Islip Middle School March Madness Chess Champion
Islip Middle School has crowned a familiar champion in its annual March Madness chess competition, as seventh grader Elijah captured the title for the second consecutive year.
Elijah’s repeat victory adds to an impressive run in the school’s popular tournament, which brings together students for a spirited, competitive celebration of chess inspired by the national college basketball tournament. Madness on a different level.
