islip 1Islip High School students El Evans and Emma Massa received Outstanding Job Performance Awards through the Suffolk County Department of Labor’s 2026 Youth Employment Summer Work Program, recognizing their hard work and contributions at their summer workplaces.

Evans worked through the Islip School District at Self-Initiated Living Options, Inc. (SILO) in Medford, while Massa worked for Youth Enrichment Services (YES) in West Islip.

The program provides young people with opportunities to gain hands-on work experience, develop valuable workplace skills and prepare for future employment. For Evans and Massa, the experience also brought recognition for their outstanding performance.

The Islip School District congratulates both students on their accomplishments and thanks Suffolk County Executive Ed Romaine, the Suffolk County Department of Labor and local elected officials for supporting meaningful employment opportunities for students.
