In a special trip meticulously planned by Choral, Music Theory and Theater Director Dr. Rich Harris, 20 lucky Islip High School students were given the opportunity to see the Broadway production of “Wicked” in a packed house on Nov. 13. the original show, about the backstory of the witches of Oz, has been running for more than 20 years, with a film version due for release on Nov. 22. Also accompanying the students were Assistant Principal Meghan Stern and Director of Fine and Performing Arts Michael Hershkowitz.

“There is nothing quite like live theater, and we are so fortunate to live so close to the theater capital of the world in New York City,” Hershkowitz said. “The kids were absolutely blown away by the singing, acting and production for this now-classic musical.”
