Islip High School senior Dominique DiJulio won first place for Senior Formal Hairstyling at the Nassau/Suffolk CTG annual competition on May 6. For the past 60 years, this competition has featured the best stylists in all of Long Island’s school cosmetology programs.

“Not only has it been an honor to participate in this prestigious event, but to bring the first-place title back to Islip is overwhelmingly joyous,” cosmetology teacher Lorraine Knoblauch said. “Dominique has been a leader in class since last year, and has proven through her hard work and dedication how important cosmetology is in her life. I am honored to have worked with such an incredible young talent.”
